Mind Body Pilates ( www.MindBodyPilates.com)
Cheryl Giballa, PMA certified Pilates and Yamuna Body Rolling Practitioner, founded Mindbody Pilates in Avalon, NJ in May 2003.

Our fully equiped studio is open year round with our experienced staff for your convenince and enjoyment. Pilates is a method of exercise that stretches your muscles while they are strengthened. The principles of this method developed by Joseph Hubertus Pilates include Breathing, Concentration, Centering and Control.

Transform the way your body looks and feels. Almost anyone can do Pilates if the level is appropriate for your physical limitations.

You may call or go online to schedule a private, semi-private or small group class. Pleae reserve your space since classes are small and may be cancelled if only one person is signed up.

"Patience and persistence are vital qualities in the ultimate successful accomplishment of any worthwhile endeavor." -Joseph H Pilates

Exercise LESS and get MORE results
Power Plate coming soon to Mindbody Pilates

What is Power Plate?

Power Plate machines use vibration to create instability in the human body. The vibration forces the body to perform reflexive muscle actions, multiple times per second. The advantage to working out on the Power Plate machine is to maximize the intensity of your workout while minimizing impact and high stress factors. Power Plate machines can be used by all ages and ability levels when the workout is designed by our highly trained instructors who understand your needs and limitations.

Benefits of Power Plate:

Using Power Plate has results similar to those obtained with Pilates training, such as increased strength and flexibility. Other benefits are similar to those of getting a massage, such as increased circulation, and elimination of toxins. Aesthetic benefits include production of collagen creating tighter younger looking skin and reduction of cellulite.

For people who are too busy to workout 3 hours a week, Power Plate can give you an intense workout in half the time. The vibration challenges your core muscles in ways that exercise alone cannot. It is an excellent idea to do 15 minutes on the Power Plate prior to a Pilates session, an athletic competition, your tennis or golf game to improve your flexibility and stability. However, regular use would result in the maximum benefits to athletic performance. "As the vibrations stimulate fast-twitch muscle fibers, athletes who use Power Plate machines over time experience a dramatic increase in explosive strength, motor learning, muscular endurance and overall agility."

Clients who take classes at Mindbody Pilates will benefit by trying out this system prior to the summertime rush. We only have one of these machines so the demand for this workout during the early morning hours in the summer will be extremely high. Please call or go online to Mindbody Pilates to register for your first session.

Mon-Fri 8 am

Please join us for a FREE circuit class Sat 1/30/10 at 10 am. Limited space is available so please call to reserve your space!

Avalon Surf School ( www.avalonsurfschool.com)
Surfing conjures up white sand beaches, clear blue skies and glassy waves. Coupled with the independent spirit of its participants the sport has become the hallmark of the Avalon way of life.
The thrill of riding a wave is one of the most exhilarating experiences in any sport whether it be with your body or with a board.

Surprisingly, most people learn surf awareness and surfing without recourse to any classes or instruction. Too often it is assumed that people "just know" all about surf safety or surfing because they either live at the beach or spend their holidays at a beach.

Unfortunately this is untrue. Just because a child can hit a tennis ball do we assume they can play a game of tennis or if a child knows the workings of a car is it assumed that he can drive one?

Learning about the surf without proper instruction is not only hard but extremely dangerous. A surf beach can be a fun place but at the same time can be a nightmare for those people who are unprepared, uniformed and unaware of the dangers that exist or can suddenly develop.

Avalon Surf School offers programs to educate and prepare you for your surf experience.

The retention of just one safety hint may save a life.
